Tips and Tools

We know ChatGPT can (and probably does) write the majority of the content on the web today. So, we're skipping the fluff, and getting to the juicy bits. What can't AI help you with?

Setting my Company Goals

A company goal is a specific and measurable objective that an organization aims to achieve. - ChatGPT

You have so many things you want to do, but where do you focus?

Follow this process to get you started:

  1. Surround yourself with the right people. Ensure that a small subset of people who truly know your business are at the table. You need an ambitious yet realistic group. You don't want to waste time entertaining unrealistic ideas or convincing someone to dream bigger.

  2. Locate your company's mission and vision statements. Don't have any? You've got some work to do. Company goals will only work if they are working in step with your company mission and vision.

  3. Brainstorm with your people. Most likely, the first set of goals that come to mind aren't quite right. They may be in the right ballpark, but they need polishing. You may also miss out on some great ideas if you don't open the floor up to creativity. Try silent brainstorming, reverse-role brainstorming, mind mapping, and other creative brainstorming methods to drill down to the ideas that your whole team agrees are the most necessary to pursue.

  4. Pinpoint the goals. Rephrase the ideas into goals. Massage your ideas into making them specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) objectives. You can consider splitting them into short and long-term goals or organizing them by product line, region, or department.

  5. Prioritize. Choose 5-6 goals that would mean the most for you and your company's success.
